Refund Policy

30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee: We stand behind the quality of our courses. If you're not completely satisfied, we offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase, subject to the conditions outlined below.

Full Refund Eligibility

You may request a 100% full refund if all of the following conditions are met:

  • Your refund request is submitted within 30 calendar days of your course purchase date
  • You have not accessed course materials beyond the first module (introductory content)
  • You have not attempted the final certification exam
  • No official certificate has been issued or downloaded
  • Your information has not yet been submitted to Texas DSHS or TABC

Partial Refund Eligibility

A 50% refund may be issued at our discretion if:

  • You have accessed some course materials but have not completed more than 50% of the course
  • You have not attempted the final exam
  • Your request is submitted within 30 days of purchase
  • No certificate has been issued

No Refund Situations

Refunds will NOT be issued in the following situations:

  • You have completed the course and received your certificate
  • You have passed the final exam and your certificate is available for download
  • Your information has been submitted to Texas DSHS or TABC for official certification
  • You have failed the exam multiple times (exams are unlimited, keep trying!)
  • More than 30 days have passed since your purchase date
  • You violated our Terms of Service (cheating, account sharing, etc.)
  • You provided false or inaccurate information during registration
  • You are requesting a refund for employer non-acceptance of the certificate (verify requirements before purchase)
  • You experienced technical difficulties on your end (outdated browser, poor internet connection, etc.)

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Customer Support: Email refunds@foodhandlersoftexas.com or call (888) 645-1990
  2. Provide Required Information:
    • Your full name and registered email address
    • Order number or transaction ID
    • Date of purchase
    • Reason for refund request
  3. Wait for Approval: We will review your request within 2-3 business days and notify you via email
  4. Receive Your Refund: If approved, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method

Refund Processing Time

  • Review Period: 2-3 business days for refund approval/denial
  • Processing Time: 5-7 business days after approval
  • Credit Card Refunds: Appear on your statement within 7-10 business days (depending on your bank)
  • Debit Card Refunds: May take up to 10 business days
  • PayPal Refunds: Typically processed within 3-5 business days

Note: Refund processing times may vary based on your financial institution's policies.

Course-Specific Refund Terms

Texas Food Handler Certificate ($9.99)

  • 30-day full refund guarantee
  • No refund after certificate download
  • No refund after DSHS submission

TABC Seller-Server Certification ($9.99)

  • 30-day full refund guarantee
  • No refund after certificate issuance
  • No refund after TABC submission
  • No refund for Social Security Number discrepancies (verify SSN before starting)

Food Manager Certification ($99.95)

  • 30-day full refund guarantee
  • No refund after exam attempt
  • Exam voucher cannot be refunded once activated

Bundle Packages (Multiple Courses)

  • 30-day refund on the entire bundle
  • No partial refunds for individual courses within a bundle
  • Refund applies only if NO courses in the bundle have been completed

Corporate and Bulk Orders

Refund policies for corporate or bulk orders (10+ students) may differ. Please contact corporate@foodhandlersoftexas.com for details on corporate refund terms.

Chargebacks and Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your credit card company or bank without first contacting us, we reserve the right to:

  • Immediately suspend your account and revoke certificate access
  • Report the fraudulent chargeback to the appropriate authorities
  • Pursue legal action for damages, including chargeback fees
  • Ban you from future purchases

Please contact us first! We're committed to resolving any issues fairly and promptly. Most problems can be resolved without chargebacks.

Subscription and Renewal Refunds

Our certifications are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. However, if you purchase a renewal or recertification course:

  • Standard refund policy applies
  • No refund if your previous certificate has expired and you've already started the renewal course

Texas Regulatory Requirements

Please note that once we submit your certification information to Texas DSHS or TABC, we cannot retrieve or delete that data. This is a state regulatory requirement. Therefore:

  • Refunds cannot be issued after regulatory submission
  • You will still have an official record with DSHS/TABC even if you receive a refund before submission
  • Certificates remain valid for 2 years (food handler) or as specified by regulation

Employer Non-Acceptance

We are an approved provider for Texas DSHS (Provider #38776) and TABC (Provider #454-508). Our certificates are accepted statewide. However:

  • Some employers may have specific training requirements beyond state minimums
  • It is your responsibility to verify your employer's requirements before purchasing
  • We do not issue refunds if your employer does not accept our certificate
  • If in doubt, ask your employer or HR department before enrolling

Technical Issues and Refunds

We strive to provide a seamless online learning experience. If you experience technical issues:

  • Contact our support team immediately – we'll work to resolve the issue
  • Most technical problems are due to browser compatibility, outdated software, or internet connectivity
  • We provide technical support to help you complete the course
  • Refunds for technical issues are considered on a case-by-case basis

Exceptions and Special Circumstances

In rare cases, we may grant refunds outside of our standard policy due to:

  • Medical emergencies or hospitalization
  • Death of the student
  • Military deployment
  • Other extraordinary circumstances (evaluated case-by-case)
